Integrating vs. Fragmenting Functional Loss in the Upper Extremities
The Schedule creates an arrangement of disabilities and values which stand
in relationship to one another.  It provides the structure necessary to assign a
standard to a non-sheduled disability according to its seriousness.
pg 1-13
Ratings for reduction of grip strength (forceful activities) shall not be in
addition to rating for amputation (frail arm & hand) or limitation of motion
(dexterity/manipulation).
pg 2-11
Extremity Joints do not function in total isolation. They are an
integral component of the extremity's Kinetic Chain.
Calculations must take into consideration the scheduled
differences for major & minor hands.
More Precise Evaluation is required than simply the use of
"Plateu Guidelines."
